THE TOP 40 of the YEAR

Each year CKLW produced a year end best of survey. These ranged from 80 to 100 of the years top hits. The following lists the Top 40 for each year (1967-76,78-79,81).
Usually the yearend charts did not have direct connection to the weekly charts. Im not sure if they were based on the popularity of the song in December, DJ & Music Directors picks or a combination of the two.

Here is the CKLW The Top 10 of 67.

As you can see The Parliments have no place as the number 2 song of the year. So what pushed it to that positions. It went to #1 on 'the other Top 30 station', but even there it only was #11 on the yearend chart.

Thanks goes to Mark Pattison who provided the typed copy of a couple of these lists.
